Office Organization
We’re headed into that time of year where the last thing you want to do is be stuck behind a desk in your home office when you could be outside enjoying beautiful weather! On top of that, it’s also tax season – your office is probably getting more use than ever! Why not take some time to make your office space a place you love? To help you out, we’ve curated products that will make your office the beautiful, efficient retreat you need it to be.

Office Organization Tips
- Sit at your desk and think through how you work. Identify your most frequently used items and arrange your office in a way that gives you access to those items from your chair.
- Use backstock cabinets to help you minimize what’s in and on your desk. This goes for both supplies and files. Keep only the essentials in your desk; store the rest away in another part of the office.
- In almost every office, the main culprit of clutter is paperwork. There are two main steps to getting it under control:
- Go through everything and decide what you REALLY need to keep. Not sure? Revisit my Organizing Important Papers blog.
- Set up a system that will keep the papers from piling up again. If you love hard copies, you’ll need a good filing system. Otherwise, I highly suggest going paperless.

If you are local to Annapolis and need a way to get rid of sensitive paperwork after editing what you have or going paperless, be sure to stop by our upcoming Shred It event on April 2, 2022, from 8 to 10 a.m. at 900 Bestgate Rd. We’ll have coffee and donuts to enjoy while you wait for Iron Mountain to shred your documents on site.
You can shred: any color office paper and file folders; no need to remove staples, paper clips, or rubber bands! You cannot shred: cardboard, plastics, common trash, hazardous materials, CDs, DVDs, magnetic media, X-Rays, computers & accessories.
